Day 1 & 2

We'll begin our tour with 2 boat sessions. Our experienced, U.S.C.G certified, licensed and insured boat captain will maneuver us safely to the rookery. While at the rookery, you'll have the opportunity to photography many species including but not limited to:

Nesting Rosette Spoonbills

Nesting Black-crown Herons

Reddish Egret (Adults & Juveniles)

Oystercatchers

Nesting Brown Pelicans

Nesting Tri-colored Herons

Nesting Cormorant

Nesting Egrets

Nesting Woodstork

And many more.

We'll also have an opportunity to photograph migratory birds by foot. Make sure to read the full itinerary for more details.

Day 3

We'll spend day 3 photographing Burrowing Owls. I take tour participants to my favorite locations to photograph the owls up-close-and-personal. You don't want to miss this opportunity!

Day 4

This is my opportunity to teach participants the benefits of using fill-flash. We'll drive to a specific location to learn the art and techniques required to successfully learn this amazing skill. Fill-flash changed my photography and I hope it does yours too!

In addition, we'll have an opportunity to photograph nesting birds at a very close distance.

Day 5

We'll end the tour photographing nesting birds at a close distance. On this day you will have an opportunity to practice everything you've learned at a single location. From birds-in-flight, to using fill flash, to creating strong award-winning photograph.

Other Important Information

$1,000 deposit (non-refundable) should be paid the day you register. Remaining $1,100 should be pay in full by February 1st, 2024.

Each participant is responsible for their own transportation, food, hotel and airfare.

Each participant is responsible for his/her own physical condition.

Make sure to arrive on February 4th to finalize workshop logistics and strategy with a friendly group dinner.
